360 Degrees (formerly situated in Sam Levy's Village, Borrowdale) is now home to the new upmarket Artis Restaurant. A great amount of redesign has been put into the establishment and if you take yourself back to the 360 days, you will notice the many changes that have been made.
With images of iconic names like Frank Sinatra and Marilyn Monroe, you feel taken back in time. The restaurant is tastefully decorated and although it has a limited menu, dress code is strictly enforced. No Tshirts, shorts, slops or vests are allowed to be worn, so be warned, as you may find yourself dining elsewhere.
Bamboo Inn is set to open next week according to a telephone interview we had with Linda Ramsey who is the landlord. She could not disclose the ownership at this point, but as we find out, we will definitely keep you all informed.
I am sure many of you remember The Bamboo Inn that was along First Street/Robert Mugabe Way, with its dark, dingy but somehow appealing pub run by the Kee family, was once a popular dining point.

We ordered 2 chicken burgers, one with mushroom sauce and the other
Its a Thursday in Bulawayo and we're deciding on which restaurant to try out for lunch. Quite a number came to mind, but for proximity and quick service (so we thought), Roosters was the choice.
As it was a 'public holiday', I thought it best to phone ahead and book a table, as many people tend to dine out over a holiday. We arrived promptly and sadly found no one to greet us as we walked in, so we seated ourselves at one of the tables. Needless to say, the restaurant was practically empty, with only another table for two being occupied.
Originally a gentleman's club in a tradition which flourished the world over in the Age of Empire, the Bulawayo Club has now been commercialised as a boutique hotel.
It boasts a well-reviewed restaurant, ‘The Bistro’. This Mediterranean styled eatery has an excellent menu inspired by traditional and delicious dishes from Italy, Greece and the Middle East.
It's 7 am and I have just done the school run. My daughters are in Grade 1 and 2 and thankfully only have to be at school by 8:30 the latest. With time on my hands I decided to treat them to a quick snack in Borrowdale, and after having a few experiences where coffee shops 'open at 7am' and found them still closed at 7:15, I was thrilled to find Delicious open and buzzing with early morning customers.
