My second ever visit to Da Eros proved to be even more thrilling than the first. We had dinner there once a long time ago, probably when it first opened; I had the pizza and it was really good.
This time around however we went at lunchtime with the girls from the office, our usual month end shindig, and we agreed at the onset that the dieting could go right out the window, we were going all out today and boy did we ever! For once I actually ordered a starter, usually preferring to keep space for dessert. One of the girls had the haloumi and loved it. The rest of us ordered the prawns in creamy garlic sauce, served on crusty bread with… wait for it… real butter, such a treat. It was oh so heavenly! The prawns were perfectly cooked out of the shell and smothered with the tastiest creamiest garlic sauce I have ever had in my life. I could hear the diet police sirens going off already in my head but chose to ignore them for what I deemed was a worthy cause, filling up the big hole left in my tummy over the last few weeks. Still licking our lips from that taste sensation, we could hardly decide what to order for mains, wondering if we could have the prawn starter dish as an entrée as well. We decided that was overkill and so I ordered the fillet steak with pepper sauce and vegetables while the others preferred the seafood platter (pictured here).
I have to say that I do love my pepper sauce with any steak I order and I’m very fussy about how it’s made. The
Da Eros Pepper Sauce passed my test with flying colours, I was suitably impressed with its creaminess and pepperiness (is there such a word? Well if not there should be!). The steak was succulent and done just how I like it, everything melded together so nicely. The other girls kindly let me sample their seafood, the prawns (grilled in the shells) were truly scrumptious, fish was well seasoned and calamari cooked perfectly.
More creamy garlic sauce was ordered, there go those sirens again. Although we were quite stuffed, we decided that we just HAD to try the dessert, remember we did say we were going all out? The tiramisu, which I tasted from one of the girls, was more of a cake with not enough cream but tasty just the same. I decided to have the coffee Pannacotta which was rich and decadent and filled up the rest of that hole in my tummy quite nicely thank you very much. All in all a very good experience and we will definitely be back again soon; we promised amongst ourselves not leave it so long before returning.
