Good Cappuccino in Zimbabwe

Written by EatoutAdmin

While having dinner at home last night the conversation turned to the quality of cappuccinos in Harare. I have to say that more often than not I am sadly disappointed by what is served up under the guise of a cappuccino.  Many coffee shop's seem to think that you walk into Makro buy the cheapest coffee machine and hey presto you have a cappuccino maker.  If you do search for how to make coffee there are many videos on how to make a cappuccino see the one right here

I proceeded to make our visitors my Mocca Java -from the house of coffees - a light roast premium,mild-bodied blend for the finest Moroccan flavour. It has a sweet fragrance, fruity aroma and is light in colour.

See the guide below :

Did an Ethiopian goatherd discover coffee?

Written by Joseph Bunga

AFRICAN ORIGINS
(Circa A.D. 800)

Goats will eat anything. Just ask Kaldi the legendary Ethiopian goatherd. Kaldi, the story goes, noticed his herd dancing from one coffee shrub to another, grazing on the cherry-red berries containing the beans. He copped a few himself and was soon frolicking with his flock.

Witnessing Kaldi’s goatly gambol, a monk plucked berries for his brothers. That night they were uncannily alert to divine inspiration.

History tells us other Africans of the same era fueled up on protein-rich coffee-and-animal-fat balls—primitive PowerBars—and unwound with wine made from coffee-berry pulp. Coffee later crossed the Red Sea to Arabia, where things really got cooking...

Troops in Iraq drinking Zimbabwean Coffee

Written by Joseph Bunga

When you next drink a cup "bad" coffee just think that it could be a lot worse than any thing you make be going through here in Zimbabwe.  Imagine that while you sip the espresso in a leafy Harare suburb or a quiet restaurant in Bulawayo there is a solider sipping a cuppa jo in the hot desert in Iraq.

According to the Leopard Forest Company - the troops in Iraq are drinking coffee that was grown in the eastern highlands right here in Zimbabwe.

How has coffee been faring in Zimbabwe

Written by Joseph Bunga

Content - from www.zimcoffee.com

Although this blog is called Java Jabber and this article is predominantly about Arabica Coffee. While you sit in a coffee shop in Zimbabwe one seldom thinks that there are great coffee farms in Zimbabwe. After the farm invasions we know or rather we expect that very little is being produced in this country.  However looking back gives you an idea of how Americans, Japanese and the Spanish were enjoying our coffee long before we gave true recognition to our home Brew.

Hot Spots in Harare

Written by Joseph Bunga

Where is the best place to have a coffee and at the same time get online and get some work done.  The increase in Wi-Fi Spots is great although sometimes a little expensive.  When I was in Bulawayo for 3 days I spend USD50 on wireless internet access.  On the other had when I look at the Chilli spot vouchers and by MB it looks cheaper than what I am paying for internet access at my office!

I recently got a new laptop which I look forward to using at the various Coffee Shops and getting my work done

Practical Meals

Written by place2b

It is great that we manage to go out and have a variety of intricately prepared meals designed, prepared and maybe set out by the most innovative chefs. The food is presented in such a way as would make you at times hesitate to devour it in the fear that you might disrupt the artist display before you set, but then you go on to remind yourself that the food is there only to be eaten and hopefully enjoyed.

There are some things that we might not really have time to do at home and would rather opt for the more traditional and convenient meals I would love to refer to as practical meals.

I would love to believe that here is where we can also share how to make practical meals at home and still have the total pleasure of enjoying our food from our homes. Personally I love my home prepared food and take time on Sundays to prepare lunch regardless of how long it could take me.

I really dont know if there are some people of like mind with me out there
