Our very own Joseph Bunga visited the newly opened Star FM radio station recently to participate in an on-air interview with the Breakfast Club. The three lively radio hosts Bongani, Blackbird and Comfort spoke to Joseph about the currently running Coffee Shop Tour.

Not only did they question Joseph about how to go about making a booking at Eatout, but they also asked him to go into detail about The Coffee Shop Tour. Fun and games were not far from the conversation as the four of them casually joked about. Star FM then ran a competition where listeners stood the chance of winning two Coffee Shop Tour vouchers. The question was simple: name anyone of the coffee shops participating in Eatout’s Coffee Shop Tour. This was sure to be easy as all they had to do was visit the Eatout website.

Joseph revealed his passion not only for various dining experiences in Zimbabwe, but for the change happening in Zimbabwe itself. He exclaimed “it’s an exciting time to be in Zimbabwe”, and he attributed Star FM as being part of that change, while transforming the experience of driving.

I got a chance to speak to the trio when he left, turning the tables in terms of questioning for a while. In between radio news broadcasts and during songs I asked them a little about their personal restaurant experiences.

Blackbird listed Vanilla Moon as somewhere she likes to hang with the girls, as well as Freshly Ground.

Comfort gave the names of Café Nush, Deli-cious and Millers Café as the three places they would be going for their Coffee Shop Tour visits. He tells me that Millers Café happens to be his favourite Harare restaurant, and while his can’t pinpoint his favourite cuisine, he declares that he loves steak.

With Bongani’s involvement with Zimbabwean rugby I focus his questions on the restaurants he tries on his travels. Out of all international cuisines he states Indian to be his favourite, and the very best he’s tried in Southern Africa is at Ghazal, a Johannesburg Indian restaurant. In more local terms he lists Da Eros as his favourite Harare restaurant, placing particular emphasis on the seafood pasta which is his popular choice.

Tune into Star FM on channel 89.7 and listen to the Breakfast Club from 6.00am to 9.00am weekdays. Also, visit www.eatout.co.zw to find out more information about The Coffee Shop Tour.
